During the tour, we will visit the old quarter of Fort Kochi, exploring the quaint streets of this city on foot. We will also visit Fort Kochi’s seaside promenade, and get a glimpse of daily life in Kochi.

The walk lasts 2 hours and is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. If you have mobility problems and require special assistance (wheelchairs), please let us know.

Coverage:Â Before the walk commences, your guide will provide an introduction to the history of Cochin and the events that have shaped it. You will also be given notes / handouts for the tour.
Your walk route will include the following:
- St Francis Church (India’s oldest European Church) built by the Portuguese Franciscan Friars.
- The Chinese Fishing nets that Cochin is famous for
- The Nehru Children’s Park area and the interesting houses that ring the park (Koder House, Tower House, Old Harbour Hotel)
- Fort Immanuel (the bastion of the Portuguese)
- The Dutch Cemetery, which is now managed by the Church of South India
- A brief walk past the seaside beach
- Bishop’s House Road, with its beautiful old-style homes
- The Union Club Building
- Santa Cruz Basilica
The walk ends with tea/coffee at a local café (Kaashi resturant) on Princess Street or Cruise terminal
